Mudras are hand gestures that work with the circuitry of energy in the body, direct the flow of PRANA (life force energy), and assist us with our emotional and mental clarity. Mudras help raise our energy when fatigued, calm us when agitated, help build natural self-confidence, open our heart to receive love, empower us with courage and fearlessness, and ultimately call us home into harmony with the whole of our life.

Lately it seems that almost every week there is some new terrible event in the news that we must digest. Our minds and bodies are scrambling to make sense of it all, and the collective trauma is palpable. Amidst these struggles we have any opportunity to choose openness and transformation rather than fear and isolation.
A New Moon represents the end of one cycle and the beginning of another new 28 day cycle. Sun conjunct Moon means all possibilities are on the table. You can rightly put yourself in the forefront of new plans for the future. Old habits, behaviors and beliefs can be questioned as you search for new and inventive ways to make progress. This is the ideal time to make a fresh start and write down a to-do list.
The New Moon on Friday 27 January, 2017 is at 8 degrees Aquarius. This New Moon is dominated by Venus square Saturn, which puts the spotlight on any issues you are having in your love life or with your financial situation. Take this opportunity to look closely and patiently at these matters.
This Moon is also the Lunar New Year, which is celebrated as the Chinese New Year! 2017 is The Year of Yin Red Fire Rooster.
In a Rooster Year, we can learn Rooster traits : Loyalty, commitment, hard work and family are characteristics of the year. Yin Fire expresses inner warmth and insight, and the quiet of stillness and connection. 2017 is sure to bring challenges, but balance, stability, and community will grow out of it for those who are willing to embrace change and work hard together.
From a mythical and intuitive perspective, this is the year of the Fire Bird… The Phoenix! I like the translation Phoenix, rather than rooster or chicken, because it brings opportunities for rebirth and transformation. The Phoenix is a brilliant, inspirational, and fearless visionary. The element Fire is perfect for Phoenix because Fire brings strength, passion, bravery, and leadership.
So now is the year to break free, claim your destiny, and overcome obstacles. You can heal past actions, even past lives, with your new awareness!

The stress and activity of everyday life is often found lodged in the tightness and discomfort of our hips. This workshop will delve deeply into opening the legs and the whole lower body. Much like a lotus flower, the hips cannot be forced or cracked open. But given the right set of circumstances and a patient approach, the hips will release like a blooming lotus flower!View Post
